I don’t know how many people have thought about heading off down the road, seeing what there is to see, without having any idea of when or where they will next put down roots, but I believe there are quite a few. Thinking, that is, and not necessarily doing.

That’s what this book is about. After years of dreaming, Amy and I, together with our cat Buzzie, finally walked the talk – we sold most of our personal belongings, put the remainder of our stuff into storage (or set it aside to take with us), listed our house for sale, bought a motorhome and a car to tow behind it, and hit the open road with no set plans on where we were going or when we would return.
